I’m hoping I do as I’m studying at one of the best j-schools in the nation, but there’s no knowing forsure. I know I’ll be taking off to a bigger city for more opportunities definitely!

Definitely get involved with any extracurricular writing activities that will help you gain experience and build your resume. Online magazines that allow anyone to submit work for them are a great example and an awesome way to get published work. I write for HerCampus for MSU occasionally. Even if you get one story published to anything it’s a byline for your resume as “Freelance writer for …..”

Do you go to my school? No, it’s definitely not too late. The requirements for JRN are JRN 100-400 which you can get done in a year if you can take in 2 years. Or even over the summer! I’d recommend it if you’re not enjoying your current major, if it’s something you like!
The current dream is to work at a magazine. I love to write and tell stories, but design is really fun too! I learned all that I know about broadcast in my 4 years in high school and now in college I write for 2 online magazines, I do real-life reporting at events in another city for my Journalism class, and I have a journalism internship as my job where I write/edit stories, do photography and graphic design!
